Brazil to Eritrea visa requirements

Brazilian ordinary passport holders need a visa to enter Eritrea. There is no eVisa, ETA, or visa-on-arrival for Brazilian tourists. You must apply in advance and obtain a sticker visa from an Eritrean embassy or consulate before you travel. Eritrea maintains a restrictive visa policy. As of 2026-05-30, a Brazilian (BR) ordinary passport holder traveling for tourism must obtain a tourist visa in advance from an Eritrean diplomatic mission. Eritrea grants visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to only a handful of neighbors (e.g., Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, Sudan) and has no public eVisa portal for tourists, so Brazil is firmly in the visa-required category. The tourist visa is a passport sticker, typically valid for three months from issue with a one-month maximum stay on arrival (extendable through Immigration in Asmara). Applications are filed via the embassy (in the US the Consular Affairs Processing System / CAPS, with the original passport mailed in), require a completed B62 application form, a passport photo (35x45mm), a passport valid at least six months, proof of funds, and proof of residency for non-citizens. The base visa fee is around USD 50 (the Washington DC mission charges roughly USD 73 with photo and service fees), and processing takes a minimum of 15 business days. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required if arriving from an infected area. Travel beyond Asmara additionally requires a separate Travel Permit for Foreigners obtained inside Eritrea. Brazilians should apply through the Eritrean mission accredited to Brazil or the nearest competent Eritrean embassy. Eritrea is not in the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply.
