Do Australia passport holders need a visa to visit New Zealand?

Trans-Tasman: Australian citizens enter NZ with no visa, no NZeTA, no IVL. Permanent residents do need NZeTA. Australian citizens travel to New Zealand under the Trans-Tasman Travel Arrangement. They need no visa and no NZeTA, and they are exempt from the NZD 100 International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy (IVL). On arrival they receive a Resident Visa equivalent that lets them live, work, and study indefinitely. Australian permanent residents who are not Australian citizens are treated differently — they must obtain an NZeTA (NZD 17-23) and pay the IVL before flying, and stay limits apply.
