Austria to Guyana visa requirements

Austrian ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for tourist visits to Guyana. They may enter visa-free and stay for up to 90 days, provided the passport is valid for at least 6 months and they can show an onward/return ticket. Austria is on Guyana's visa-exemption list, so Austrian citizens holding an ordinary passport can travel to Guyana for tourism or short visits without obtaining a visa in advance or on arrival. The permitted stay is up to 90 days. At the port of entry (most arrivals land at Cheddi Jagan International Airport, Timehri) immigration officers will admit visitors who present a passport valid for at least six months, a completed arrival/embarkation card, and evidence of onward or return travel plus sufficient funds. No fee is charged for this visa-free admission. Travelers should be aware that Guyana requires a yellow fever vaccination certificate if arriving from or transiting a country with risk of yellow fever transmission; coming directly from Austria this is generally not required, but the certificate is strongly recommended given travel within South America. Extensions beyond the initial stay can be requested from the Ministry of Home Affairs / Central Immigration in Georgetown. There were no changes affecting Austria in the 2024-2026 period; the most recent Guyana visa-policy change was the cancellation of Albania's exemption in July 2024. Guyana is not in the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply to this route.
