Austria to Ecuador visa requirements

Austrian passport holders can travel to Ecuador visa-free for tourism and stay up to 90 days within any 12-month period. No advance visa, eVisa, or visa-on-arrival is required for short visits. As an EU member, Austria benefits from Ecuador's general visa-exemption policy. Ordinary Austrian passport holders entering for tourism or short visits receive a "T-3" tourist stamp on arrival permitting up to 90 days, calculated cumulatively within a rolling 12-month period (not per entry). The passport must be valid for at least 6 months. No fee is charged for the standard 90-day stamp. Travelers should be ready to show proof of onward/return travel, sufficient funds, and accommodation. Stays beyond 90 days require an extension (90-day "tourist extension" / special tourist visa) applied for inside Ecuador before the first period lapses. Note a 2024 rule: those entering overland from Peru or Colombia must present an apostilled criminal-record certificate (translated to Spanish), unless an exemption applies. Ecuador is not in the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply to this route.
