Austria to Dominican Republic visa requirements

Austrian (EU) passport holders do NOT need a visa for tourism in the Dominican Republic. They may enter visa-free for up to 30 days. A free online E-Ticket (Electronic Entry/Exit Form) must be completed before both arrival and departure, and a Tourist Card fee (USD 10) is normally bundled into the airfare for air arrivals. Austria is on the Dominican Republic's visa-exemption list, so an Austrian ordinary-passport holder can travel to the DR for tourism without any visa for stays up to 30 days. There is no embassy application, no eVisa, and no visa-on-arrival to obtain. Two formalities apply to everyone regardless of nationality: (1) the mandatory free E-Ticket (Viajero Digital / eticket.migracion.gob.do), which must be filled out before arriving at the departure airport counter and again before leaving; and (2) the Tourist Card, a USD 10 entry levy that is automatically included in the price of nearly all air tickets to the DR, so air travelers rarely pay it separately. Passport should be valid for the trip; an exceptional measure in force through 31 December 2026 relaxes the usual six-months-validity rule, but six months remaining validity is still the safe standard. Travelers may be asked for proof of onward/return travel, sufficient funds and an address of stay. Stays can be extended at the Migration Department; overstays are settled with a tiered fee paid at the airport on departure. The Dominican Republic is not in the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply to entering the DR.
