Austria to Cameroon visa requirements

Austrian ordinary passport holders need an eVisa to visit Cameroon for tourism. Apply online at the official portal evisacam.cm before travel; biometric enrollment is completed at the border post on arrival or at a consular office. There is no visa-free or pure visa-on-arrival channel for Austrians. As of mid-2026, Austrian citizens travelling to Cameroon for tourism or a short visit must obtain a Cameroon eVisa. Cameroon launched its electronic visa system in 2023, and Austria is not among the seven visa-exempt nationalities (limited to neighboring Central African states plus Mali and Nigeria). Applicants register on the official government portal at www.evisacam.cm, complete the online form, upload supporting documents, and pay online. The short-stay eVisa typically covers stays up to 180 days. Under normal processing the authorization is issued within roughly 72 hours of payment (24 hours for express), but applicants are advised to apply at least 10 days before entry. A key distinguishing feature of Cameroon's system is that biometric enrollment is mandatory: travelers who apply online complete fingerprint and photo capture at the entry border post (e.g., Douala or Yaoundé airport) or at the relevant diplomatic/consular mission, where the visa sticker is then affixed. A passport valid for at least six months beyond departure and proof of Yellow Fever vaccination are required.
