Austria to Belarus visa requirements

Austrian ordinary passport holders can enter Belarus visa-free for tourism for up to 30 days per visit under Belarus's visa-free regime for 38 European states, extended through 31 December 2026. No visa or eVisa is required for short stays. Austria is one of the 38 European countries covered by Belarus's unilateral visa-free regime. Originally introduced in mid-2024 and renewed annually, the regime has been extended by presidential decree through 31 December 2026. Austrian citizens holding an ordinary passport may enter for tourism, business or transit and stay up to 30 days per visit, with a cumulative cap of 90 days within a single calendar year and no limit on the number of trips. Entry is permitted through all international airports and all international road and rail border crossing points (entry directly from Russia is not covered, as there is no formal border control on that frontier). Travelers must hold a valid travel document and obtain medical insurance valid in Belarus; this visa-free channel does not apply to diplomatic or special passports, and it cannot be used for residency, work or study, which still require a visa. Foreign visitors must register with local authorities if staying more than 10 days. The 30-day visa-free allowance applies to Austria; only Poland, Lithuania and Latvia (and Latvian non-citizens) receive the longer 90-day-per-entry allowance. As always when crossing into Belarus, travelers should keep proof of insurance and onward arrangements, and verify the regime is still in force close to departure since it has been renewed on a year-by-year basis.
