Austria to Armenia visa requirements

Austrian ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for Armenia. They can enter visa-free for tourism and stay up to 180 days within any one-year period. Austria (AT) ordinary passport holders enjoy visa-free entry to Armenia (AM) for short stays. Under Armenia's permanent unilateral visa-exemption list — which covers all 27 EU member states plus EFTA countries, the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Japan and others — Austrian citizens may enter without any visa and stay for up to 180 days within a one-year period for tourism, business or family visits. No e-visa, no visa-on-arrival, and no pre-registration is required. Armenia is NOT part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply to entering Armenia. A separate temporary exemption (1 Jan to 1 Jul 2026) lets certain residence-permit holders of EU/US/GCC states enter visa-free, but Austrian citizens do not rely on this — their visa-free access is a standing, permanent arrangement based on nationality. Travelers should hold a passport valid for the duration of stay (a buffer of at least 3-6 months beyond the planned departure is recommended as good practice). Entry is granted at Yerevan Zvartnots (EVN) and land borders on presentation of a valid passport; the immigration officer stamps the passport on arrival.
