🇦🇷Argentina🇸🇷SurinameAR-SR Argentina to Suriname visa requirements
Argentine ordinary passport holders need an e-Tourist Card (an online travel authorization) to visit Suriname for tourism. It must be obtained online through VFS Global before travel; there is no visa sticker and no visa-on-arrival for this category. An Argentina (ordinary passport) holder cannot simply walk into Suriname visa-free. Since the entry-system overhaul that took effect on 15 January 2024, tourists from eligible countries — Argentina among the roughly 52 listed nationalities — must apply online for a Suriname e-Tourist Card through VFS Global, the government's official partner, before departure. The e-Tourist Card is a single-entry electronic authorization permitting tourism or family visits for up to 90 days, and it must be presented (together with a passport valid at least 6 months and proof of onward/return travel) at check-in and on arrival. A multiple-entry option valid for one year is also available. Because the document is issued electronically in advance rather than at the border, the best-fit channel is an e-visa style authorization rather than true visa-free entry or visa-on-arrival. Suriname is not in the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. CARICOM nationals and a handful of bilateral-agreement countries (e.g. Brazil, the Netherlands) are fully exempt, but Argentina is not in that exemption group. Travelers should apply a few days to a couple of weeks ahead; standard processing is typically a few business days, with paid expedited options. Always reconfirm fees and eligibility on the official VFS portal shortly before booking, as Suriname has changed its entry rules repeatedly since 2023.
