🇦🇷Argentina🇸🇰SlovakiaAR-SK Argentina to Slovakia visa requirements
Argentine ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for short tourist stays in Slovakia. Slovakia is in the Schengen Area, and Argentina has a visa-waiver agreement with the EU allowing visa-free stays of up to 90 days within any 180-day period. Slovakia is a member of the Schengen Area, and Argentina is on the EU's list of visa-exempt nationalities. As of 30 May 2026, an Argentine citizen with an ordinary passport may travel to Slovakia for tourism without a visa, staying up to 90 days within any rolling 180-day period (the total count applies across ALL Schengen countries combined, not per country). No fee or prior authorization is required at present. Travelers must hold a passport valid for at least 3 months beyond the intended departure date (6 months is commonly recommended) and issued within the last 10 years, and should be prepared to show proof of onward/return travel, sufficient funds, accommodation, and travel medical insurance. An important upcoming change: the European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS) is scheduled to launch in the last quarter of 2026 (Q4 2026, with a phased transition into 2027). Once ETIAS becomes mandatory, Argentine travelers will need to obtain a pre-travel online authorization (expected EUR 20, valid 3 years) before entering Slovakia and the rest of the Schengen Area. ETIAS is NOT a visa and is not yet required as of this verification date. Note also the Entry/Exit System (EES) biometric border registration, which is being rolled out at Schengen external borders. Travelers should verify the latest ETIAS/EES status close to their departure date.
