Argentina to Sweden visa requirements

No visa needed. Argentine ordinary passport holders can enter Sweden (a Schengen state) visa-free for up to 90 days within any 180-day period for tourism. Argentina is on Annex II of EU Regulation 2018/1806, the list of countries whose nationals are exempt from a short-stay Schengen visa. An Argentine ordinary passport holder may travel to Sweden for tourism without a visa for up to 90 days in any rolling 180-day period, with days counted across the entire Schengen Area (not just Sweden). The passport must be valid for at least three months beyond the intended departure from the Schengen Area and issued within the previous 10 years. At the border you may be asked to show proof of onward/return travel, sufficient funds, accommodation and the purpose of your stay. Two new EU systems affect this route: the Entry/Exit System (EES), which began rolling out on 10 April 2026 and electronically records border crossings (replacing passport stamps); and ETIAS, the European Travel Information and Authorisation System, expected to become operational in the last quarter of 2026. ETIAS is NOT yet required as of 30 May 2026 - until it launches, Argentine travellers continue to enter visa-free with no pre-travel authorisation. Once ETIAS is live, Argentines will need an approved ETIAS (EUR 20, valid 3 years or until passport expiry) before boarding, but it is a travel authorisation, not a visa, and the route remains visa-free.
