Argentina to Mauritania visa requirements

Argentine ordinary passport holders need an eVisa to visit Mauritania. Since January 5, 2025, Mauritania replaced visa-on-arrival with a mandatory online eVisa that must be approved before boarding; the fee is paid on arrival. As of 2026, holders of an Argentine ordinary passport require a visa to enter Mauritania for tourism. Argentina is not among the small group of (mostly African) countries exempted from visa requirements. On January 5, 2025, Mauritania's National Agency for the Population Register and Secure Titles (ANRPTS) launched a centralized electronic visa system at anrpts.gov.mr and discontinued sticker visas and the traditional visa-on-arrival channel. All visa-required nationals, including Argentines, must now submit an eVisa application online and receive approval before boarding their flight to Mauritania. After applying, the applicant downloads and prints the approved visa, then pays the visa fee in cash (EUR or USD) and provides biometric data upon arrival, typically at Nouakchott-Oumtounsy International Airport. The short-stay tourist visa is generally single entry for 30 days. Processing usually takes about 2-3 business days, though travelers should allow extra time. A passport valid at least 6 months with blank pages, a return/onward ticket, proof of funds, and a yellow fever vaccination certificate are required. Mauritania is not part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply.
