Argentina to Sri Lanka visa requirements

Argentine ordinary passport holders need an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) before traveling to Sri Lanka. Argentina is NOT among the 40 nationalities granted the free ETA from 25 May 2026, so the standard paid tourist ETA (USD 50) applies. A holder of an Argentine ordinary passport cannot enter Sri Lanka without prior authorization. Sri Lanka requires an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) for tourism, which must be obtained online before departure - visa-on-arrival was discontinued for routine tourist entry on 15 October 2025. On 25 May 2026 Sri Lanka introduced a free 30-day tourist ETA for 40 nationalities, but Argentina is not on that list. Argentine travelers therefore pay the standard tourist ETA fee of USD 50, which grants a double-entry stay of up to 30 days from the date of arrival within a validity window of 30 days. The passport must be valid for at least six months from the date of arrival. Online processing is typically 24-72 hours, though applicants should apply at least three days ahead. Stays beyond 30 days require an in-country extension at the Department of Immigration and Emigration with additional government fees. Sri Lanka is not in the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply to this route.
