🇦🇷Argentina🇰🇷South KoreaAR-KR Argentina to South Korea visa requirements
Argentine ordinary passport holders do NOT need a traditional visa for tourism in South Korea: under the Korea-Argentina visa-waiver agreement they may stay up to 90 days visa-free. However, because Argentina is NOT on South Korea's 2026 temporary K-ETA exemption list (22 countries), Argentine travelers MUST obtain a Korea Electronic Travel Authorization (K-ETA) online before boarding. The K-ETA costs about KRW 10,000 (~USD 7-8), is valid 3 years, and is approved usually within 72 hours. Argentina and South Korea have a mutual visa-waiver arrangement that lets Argentine ordinary passport holders enter Korea for tourism or short visits for up to 90 days without a consular visa. This is not a fully open border, though: Korea's Electronic Travel Authorization (K-ETA) applies to nationals of visa-free countries. During the "Visit Korea Year" promotion, Korea temporarily waived the K-ETA for 22 selected countries/regions (e.g. Japan, USA, UK, Germany, Australia) through 31 December 2026 — and Argentina is NOT on that list. Therefore Argentine travelers must apply for and receive an approved K-ETA before departure. Separately, from 2026 Korea requires all arriving foreign nationals to complete a digital e-Arrival Card (within 3 days before arrival), though an approved K-ETA can satisfy the arrival-declaration requirement. Passport must be valid for the duration of stay, and travelers should carry proof of onward/return travel and accommodation. Always re-verify on the official k-eta.go.kr portal close to travel, as exemption lists and entry rules change frequently.
