Argentina to Germany visa requirements

Argentine ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for tourism in Germany. They can enter the Schengen Area (which includes Germany) visa-free for up to 90 days within any 180-day period. As of 30 May 2026, Argentina is on the EU's Schengen visa-exempt list, so an Argentine ordinary-passport holder can travel to Germany for tourism, business or family visits without a visa for up to 90 days in any rolling 180-day period. You simply present a passport valid for at least three months beyond your planned departure and issued within the last 10 years; border officers may also ask for proof of onward/return travel, accommodation and sufficient funds. Two EU systems affect this route. The Entry/Exit System (EES) went live on 10 April 2026: at your first crossing of a Schengen external border your fingerprints and facial image are recorded, and passport stamps are replaced by electronic entry/exit records — this requires no application and no fee. The ETIAS travel authorisation (a €20 online pre-screening, NOT a visa) is expected to begin only in the last quarter of 2026, followed by a roughly six-month transitional period; it is therefore NOT yet required for travel as of this date. Once ETIAS is mandatory, Argentine travellers will need an approved authorisation before boarding, but the 90/180 visa-free rule itself does not change.
