Do UAE passport holders need a visa to visit ZM?
UAE ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for short tourist visits to Zambia. They are admitted visa-free for up to 30 days per entry, extendable up to a maximum of 90 days within any 12-month period. No advance application or fee is required for the standard visa-free entry. As of 31 May 2026, holders of an ordinary United Arab Emirates passport are visa-exempt for entry into Zambia for tourism and short visits. The UAE was already on Zambia's visa-waiver list prior to the January 2025 expansion that raised the total number of exempt countries to 167. On arrival at a Zambian port of entry (such as Kenneth Kaunda International Airport in Lusaka or Harry Mwanga Nkumbula International Airport in Livingstone), Emirati travelers receive a free entry stamp valid for up to 30 days, which can be extended twice (30 days each) at a local immigration office, up to a cumulative maximum of 90 days within any 12-month period. The passport must be valid for at least six months with sufficient blank pages, and travelers should carry proof of onward/return travel and accommodation. Because Zambia is in Southern Africa (not the Schengen area), no Schengen 90/180 rule or ETIAS applies. Travelers visiting both Zambia and Zimbabwe (e.g., for Victoria Falls) may optionally purchase the KAZA Univisa (USD 50) at the border, but it is not required for a Zambia-only visit. Sources consulted include the Zambia Department of Immigration and standard visa-policy references; given that one general visa-services summary suggested a visa was required, conservative travelers should reconfirm with the Zambian High Commission before departure, but the weight of authoritative evidence confirms visa-free status.
