Do UAE passport holders need a visa to visit Vietnam?
UAE ordinary passport holders need a visa for Vietnam. The simplest option is Vietnam's online e-visa, valid up to 90 days, with single (USD 25) or multiple (USD 50) entry. United Arab Emirates ordinary passport holders are NOT on Vietnam's visa-exemption list, so they cannot enter Vietnam visa-free. As of 2026, Vietnam's electronic visa (e-visa) is open to citizens of all countries and territories, including the UAE. Applicants apply online through the official government portal (evisa.gov.vn), upload a passport scan and a photo, and pay the government fee by card. The e-visa allows stays of up to 90 days and is issued as single-entry (USD 25) or multiple-entry (USD 50). Standard processing is roughly 3-5 working days; apply at least 2-3 weeks before departure. Since late 2025, e-visa holders may enter and exit through any of Vietnam's approved international ports regardless of the gate chosen at application. The passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival and have at least two blank pages. The e-visa is the recommended route for tourism; a visa-on-arrival (with a pre-approval letter) and an embassy sticker visa also exist but are less convenient for short tourist visits.
