UAE ordinary passport holders need a visa for Vietnam. The simplest option is Vietnam's online e-visa, valid up to 90 days, with single (USD 25) or multiple (USD 50) entry. United Arab Emirates ordinary passport holders are NOT on Vietnam's visa-exemption list, so they cannot enter Vietnam visa-free. Vietnam's electronic visa (e-visa) is open to citizens of all countries and territories, including the UAE, under the policy effective from 15 August 2023. Applicants apply online through the official government portal (evisa.gov.vn), upload a passport data-page image and a portrait photo, and pay the government fee by card. The e-visa is valid for up to 90 days and is issued as single-entry (USD 25) or multiple-entry (USD 50). Standard processing is normally several working days; apply at least 2-3 weeks before departure to allow for corrections or delays. E-visa holders must enter and exit through border gates approved by the Government of Viet Nam and listed by the official e-visa system. The official e-visa conditions require a valid passport; six months of validity and at least one blank page are prudent travel checks. The e-visa is the recommended route for tourism; embassy/guaranteed visa routes may be needed for purposes or cases not covered by e-visa.
