United Arab Emirates to Timor-Leste visa requirements

UAE ordinary passport holders are not visa-exempt for Timor-Leste, but they can obtain a single-entry tourist visa on arrival (VOA) for up to 30 days if arriving at Dili's Presidente Nicolau Lobato International Airport or the Port of Dili. Land-border arrival is different: UAE travelers should obtain a Visa Application Authorization before reaching the border. The tourist VOA fee is USD 30 cash. Timor-Leste (TL) requires UAE ordinary passport holders to have a visa for tourism, but the usual short-visit route remains a tourist visa on arrival when entering by air through Dili's international airport or by sea through the Port of Dili. Official Timor-Leste guidance states that the tourist visa is single-entry, allows a stay of 30 days, costs USD 30, and can be extended once for another 30 days for USD 40. The previous entry incorrectly treated land-border arrival as a normal visa-on-arrival route for UAE travelers. Current official customs guidance says that, except for Indonesian nationals and Portuguese or U.S. nationals, travelers arriving at a land border must apply in advance for a Visa Application Authorization and present it at the border before a visa can be granted after payment of the fee. Travelers should hold a passport valid for at least 6 months, at least one blank page for the visa sticker, a return or onward ticket, accommodation details, and evidence of sufficient funds. Timor-Leste is not part of the Schengen area, so Schengen 90/180 and ETIAS rules do not apply.
