Do UAE passport holders need a visa to visit TJ?
UAE ordinary passport holders can enter Tajikistan visa-free for up to 30 days for tourism. No visa or e-visa is needed in advance. Since 1 January 2022, Tajikistan has granted unilateral visa-free entry to citizens of the United Arab Emirates holding ordinary passports. Emiratis can enter for tourism, business, or general visits for up to 30 days per visit without applying for any visa or e-visa beforehand. The passport should be valid for at least six months beyond the intended stay. No advance application, fee, or sponsor is required at the border for stays within 30 days. Two practical caveats apply: travelers staying beyond 10 working days (roughly 14 calendar days) should register with the local OVIR (Office of Visas and Registration), a step hotels usually handle automatically; and anyone planning to visit the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO) — the Pamir Highway, Wakhan Corridor, and Bartang Valley — needs a separate GBAO permit, even when entering visa-free. Those who need to stay longer than 30 days can instead use Tajikistan's e-visa system (single or multiple entry) or apply for a standard visa through the Consulate General of Tajikistan in Dubai. For a standard short tourist trip, however, no visa action is required.
