Do UAE passport holders need a visa to visit SZ?
UAE ordinary passport holders need a visa to enter eSwatini and can apply online through the official eSwatini eVisa portal (launched August 2025) for a tourist stay of up to 30 days. The United Arab Emirates is not on eSwatini's visa-exemption list, so UAE ordinary passport holders require a visa for tourism. Since August 2025, eSwatini operates a government eVisa portal (evisa.gov.sz) where visa-required nationals, including UAE citizens, can apply online before travel. A tourist eVisa permits a stay of up to 30 days, extendable once for a further 30 days at the Ministry of Home Affairs; stays beyond 60 days require a Temporary Residence Permit. There is no visa-on-arrival channel through official government counters, so the eVisa (or a visa obtained in advance via an eSwatini diplomatic mission) is the recommended route. Applicants should hold a passport valid at least three months beyond entry with two blank pages, proof of funds, onward/return travel, and a square-format passport photo. A yellow fever certificate is only needed if arriving from or transiting a yellow-fever-risk country. eSwatini is in Southern Africa and is not part of the Schengen area, so Schengen 90/180 and ETIAS rules do not apply.
