Do UAE passport holders need a visa to visit SR?
UAE ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa or e-visa for short tourist stays in Suriname. They travel visa-free for up to 90 days, but must purchase a mandatory online Entry Fee Voucher (toegangsbewijs) of USD 50 / EUR 50 via VFS Global before arrival. As of 31 May 2026, United Arab Emirates ordinary passport holders can enter Suriname visa-free for tourism and family visits for up to 90 days. Suriname operates a three-tier policy: a small group of (mostly CARICOM) countries enter fully exempt; a defined list of countries (EU, US, UK, Turkey, Singapore, Indonesia, etc.) buy an e-Tourist Card; and roughly 21 nationalities (Afghanistan, India, Pakistan, Egypt, Nigeria, etc.) must obtain a full e-Visa. The UAE is in none of the visa-required categories, so Emiratis fall under the entry-fee visa-waiver: no consular visa is needed, but every traveler must pay the Entry Fee Voucher of USD 50 / EUR 50 online through the official VFS Global portal (suriname.vfsevisa.com) before boarding, plus an approximate USD 8 service fee. The voucher is single-entry, valid for one trip with a stay of up to 90 days, and is checked at all major entry points including Johan Adolf Pengel International Airport (PBM) and the land borders with Guyana and French Guiana. Travelers should carry a passport valid for at least 6 months, a printed voucher, and a return/onward ticket. Suriname is in South America and is not part of the Schengen area, so Schengen 90/180 and ETIAS rules do not apply.
