🇦🇪United Arab Emirates🇷🇼RwandaAE-RW United Arab Emirates to Rwanda visa requirements
UAE ordinary passport holders do NOT need to arrange a visa before flying to Rwanda. A 30-day single-entry tourist visa is granted on arrival for US$50, with no prior application required. An online eVisa via irembo.gov.rw is an optional alternative. As of 2026, a United Arab Emirates ordinary passport holder traveling to Rwanda for tourism does not need a pre-arranged visa. Under Rwanda's open visa policy (effective since 1 January 2018, citizens of all countries can obtain a visa on arrival without prior application), UAE nationals receive a visa on arrival at Kigali International Airport and other ports of entry. UAE MoFA lists normal UAE passports as Visa On Arrival for Rwanda, gives tourism stays as 30 days, and states that the visa is granted on arrival at a cost of US$50 for normal passport holders. Rwanda DGIE lists the V1 Holiday Visa as available on arrival or online, with fees of US$50 for single entry and US$70 for multiple entry. UAE country-specific guidance from UAE MoFA and the UAE Embassy in Kigali states that normal/regular UAE passport holders receive a visa on arrival and must pay the US$50 entry visa fee on arrival. Separately, Rwanda Biomedical Centre's current traveler notice says foreign nationals who travelled to, or transited through, the DRC within the 30 days before travel to Rwanda will be denied entry while the Ebola precaution remains in force. Travelers who prefer certainty can apply online in advance through the official Irembo portal (irembo.gov.rw), whose current service guidance lists a 4-day processing time. Rwanda is in East Africa, not the Schengen area, so ETIAS and the Schengen 90/180 rule do not apply. Diplomatic, official, and service passport holders receive the visa on arrival free of charge, but this guide covers ordinary passports.
