Do UAE passport holders need a visa to visit RU?

UAE ordinary passport holders can travel to Russia visa-free for tourism, staying up to 90 days within any 180-day period, under the bilateral Russia-UAE visa-waiver agreement in force since February 2019. No visa is required, but you should register in the RuID app before arrival. Holders of ordinary UAE passports do not need a visa to visit Russia for tourism, business, or family visits. Under the Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the UAE on reciprocal visa-free travel (in force since 17 February 2019), nationals of either country holding valid passports of any type may enter, transit and stay without a visa for up to 90 days within each 180-day period, provided they do not intend to work, study or take up residence. The passport must be valid for at least six months. Russia is not part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply here. Since 30 June 2025 Russia has been phasing in a digital pre-entry system: visa-free travelers are expected to register in the RuID mobile app, submitting personal and biometric data at least 72 hours before arrival to obtain a QR code shown at the border. The RuID program is an experiment running to 31 December 2027; it is mandatory at designated crossing points (including Moscow Sheremetyevo) and being rolled out elsewhere, so all visa-free travelers should register to avoid boarding or entry problems. On arrival you receive a migration card to keep until departure, and stays beyond 7 working days at one location require migration registration (hotels handle this automatically).
