United Arab Emirates to Russian Federation visa requirements

UAE ordinary passport holders can visit Russia visa-free for up to 90 days within any 180-day period. RuID digital pre-registration is part of Russia's entry experiment and is recommended; do not treat missing RuID alone as a tourist visa refusal rule. Holders of ordinary UAE passports do not need a visa to visit Russia for tourism, short non-employment business, transit or family visits. Under the Russia-UAE reciprocal visa-free agreement in force since 17 February 2019, citizens of either country holding valid passports of any type may enter, transit and stay without a visa for up to 90 days within each 180-day period, provided they do not intend to work, study or live in Russia or the UAE. The passport must be valid for at least 6 months. Russia is not part of the Schengen area, so Schengen/ETIAS rules do not apply. Russia is also running a digital entry/RuID experiment, established by Government Decree No. 1510 and amended by Decree No. 468, with the experiment extended to 31 December 2027 and changes taking effect from 30 June 2026. For ordinary tourism and short visits, describe RuID as available/recommended pre-registration that may simplify checks and digital services; current Russian diplomatic guidance has stated that the absence of a completed RuID entry application is not, by itself, a border-control or entry-refusal ground. Travelers should still check current Russian official guidance before departure, especially for work, study, long-stay, driver or other special-purpose trips, where RuID/application requirements may be stricter.
