Do UAE passport holders need a visa to visit NL?

No visa needed. UAE ordinary passport holders enter the Netherlands visa-free for up to 90 days in any 180-day period for tourism. The United Arab Emirates has a visa-waiver agreement with the European Union, so Emirati ordinary passport holders may travel to the Netherlands (a Schengen Area member) without a visa for short stays. You can stay up to 90 days within any rolling 180-day period for tourism, business, or family visits across the entire Schengen Area combined. No advance application or fee is required as of 30 May 2026. Two new EU border systems are arriving: the Entry/Exit System (EES), now rolling out, which records biometric entry/exit data at the border, and ETIAS, a EUR 20 online travel authorization expected to launch in the last quarter of 2026 with a transitional grace period — it is not yet required on this date. Ensure your passport is valid for at least three months beyond your intended departure and was issued within the last 10 years.
