Apply online through the official ANRPTS portal before boarding; the 30-day fee for the Arab world/Africa tariff is 40 EUR / 45 USD and is paid in exact cash on arrival. As of 19 June 2026, holders of an ordinary United Arab Emirates passport are not visa-free for Mauritania. Mauritania's official visa page lists the UAE exemption only for diplomatic and service passports. Ordinary Emirati travelers must apply for a Mauritania eVisa through the official ANRPTS portal before travel and carry the eVisa for boarding. GOV.UK states that since 5 January 2025 it is no longer possible to obtain a visa on arrival in Mauritania. No payment is taken online; eVisa fees are paid on arrival in exact cash in EUR or USD. The official Mauritania MFA table lists the 30-day Arab world/Africa tariff as 40 EUR / 45 USD, which is the appropriate regional tariff to apply for UAE travelers. No fixed official processing time was found, so apply well in advance. Passport validity should be at least six months after arrival with a blank page. Yellow fever vaccination proof is required if arriving from a yellow-fever transmission-risk country; CDC recommends vaccination for travelers aged 9 months or older going to areas south of the Sahara Desert.
