Do UAE passport holders need a visa to visit KZ?

UAE ordinary passport holders can enter Kazakhstan visa-free for up to 30 days per entry (max 90 days within any 180-day period) under the bilateral visa-waiver agreement in force since March 2018. No visa or eVisa is needed for short tourism. Under a bilateral visa-waiver agreement that entered into force on 10 March 2018, holders of United Arab Emirates ordinary (national) passports may enter the Republic of Kazakhstan without a visa for tourism or short business trips for up to 30 days per entry, capped at a cumulative 90 days within any rolling 180-day period. The passport must be valid for at least 3 months beyond the intended date of departure from Kazakhstan. No advance application, eVisa, or visa-on-arrival is required for a qualifying short stay; travelers simply present a valid passport at the border. Stays beyond 30 days, or purposes such as work, study, or long-term residence, require an appropriate visa obtained in advance (typically via Kazakhstan's electronic visa / migration portal or a consulate). Kazakhstan is not part of the Schengen area, so the EU Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. This route has remained stable through 2024-2026, with the two countries deepening ties via digital and visa-free travel initiatives.
