United Arab Emirates to Greece visa requirements

No visa needed. UAE nationals holding an ordinary UAE passport can visit Greece and the wider Schengen Area visa-free for up to 90 days in any 180-day period for tourism, family visits, eligible business visits, or transit. The Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs lists the United Arab Emirates as visa-free for Greece, and the current consolidated EU visa list, Regulation (EU) 2018/1806, includes the United Arab Emirates in Annex II for stays of no more than 90 days in any 180-day period. The EU-UAE short-stay visa waiver agreement also covers UAE citizens holding valid UAE passports and has applied provisionally since 6 May 2015. This visa-free route does not cover paid activity, and longer stays or residence in Greece require the correct Greek national visa or residence route. Standard Schengen entry conditions still apply: passport issued within the last 10 years and valid at least 3 months after intended Schengen departure, justification of purpose and accommodation, return or onward travel if requested, sufficient funds, and no entry-refusal alerts. EES is now fully operational across Schengen countries since 10 April 2026 and records passport data, facial image, fingerprints, entries, exits, and refusals at external borders instead of passport stamping. ETIAS is not yet required as of 18 June 2026; the European Commission says it will start in the last quarter of 2026, the exact start date will be officially communicated later in 2026, and the fee is EUR 20 once the requirement applies.
