Do UAE passport holders need a visa to visit GQ?

UAE ordinary passport holders can obtain a visa on arrival in Equatorial Guinea, valid for a stay of up to 90 days, after paying the entry fee at an international port of entry. Under the bilateral entry-visa agreement signed in Malabo on 28 July 2019 between the United Arab Emirates and Equatorial Guinea, holders of UAE ordinary (normal) passports are entitled to a visa on arrival at Equatorial Guinea's international ports of entry, after payment of the applicable visa fee, for a stay of up to 90 days. (Holders of UAE diplomatic, special and service passports are fully visa-free for 90 days; this distinction matters because ordinary-passport tourists must still pay and be processed on arrival.) Since 1 July 2023 Equatorial Guinea also operates an electronic visa (eVisa) at egonline.vfsevisa.com / equatorialguinea-evisa.com, which many travellers now use to avoid uncertainty at the border. Note that travellers entering on an eVisa must arrive via Malabo International Airport (SSG). A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required, and passports must be valid for at least six months. Because immigration officers retain discretion and on-the-ground enforcement of bilateral VOA can be inconsistent, security-conscious travellers are advised to obtain the eVisa in advance. Always confirm with the airline and the nearest Equatorial Guinea diplomatic mission before departure.
