Do UAE passport holders need a visa to visit DO?

UAE ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for tourism in the Dominican Republic. The UAE is on the Dominican Republic's visa-exemption list (granted 18 December 2007), allowing visa-free tourist entry for up to 30 days. No visa or eVisa is required; you only need a passport, a completed free online eTicket (QR code), and the tourist-card fee, which is already bundled into your air ticket. As of 31 May 2026, citizens of the United Arab Emirates holding an ordinary passport may enter the Dominican Republic visa-free for tourism for up to 30 days, extendable in-country. The exemption stems from a Dominican government decree in force since December 2007 and is reflected on the official Dominican tourism board's entry-requirements page and the Dominican visa-policy record. There is no visa, eVisa, or formal visa-on-arrival sticker for Emirati tourists. Every air or sea traveler must, however, complete the mandatory and free electronic entry/exit form (the "eTicket") on the official Direccion General de Migracion portal (eticket.migracion.gob.do) within 72 hours before travel; it generates a QR code required for boarding and immigration. The US$10 tourist-card/tourism fee is now automatically included in the airfare for arrivals by air, so most tourists pay nothing extra on arrival (a US$20 tourist card applies only to land/sea arrivals where not pre-paid). Standard requirements include a passport valid for the stay (six months recommended), proof of onward/return travel, accommodation address, and sufficient funds. Some commercial visa-aggregator sites describe a "visa on arrival" for UAE ordinary passports, but the authoritative tourism authority and the visa-policy decree list both treat the UAE as fully visa-exempt; we therefore classify this route as visa-free. The Dominican Republic is not in the Schengen area, so Schengen 90/180 and ETIAS rules do not apply.
