Do UAE passport holders need a visa to visit CZ?
UAE ordinary passport holders can visit Czechia visa-free for up to 90 days within any 180-day period for tourism. No visa is required as of 2026-05-31. ETIAS is not yet mandatory but will be required for visa-exempt travelers once it launches in late 2026. Czechia is part of the Schengen Area, and United Arab Emirates ordinary passport holders have enjoyed visa-free access to Schengen since 7 May 2015. Emirati travelers may enter Czechia for tourism, business, or family visits for up to 90 days within any rolling 180-day period without applying for a visa in advance. The Czech Embassy in Abu Dhabi confirms that UAE nationals do not need a visa for short-term (up to 90 days) non-profit stays. Two EU border systems affect the journey in 2026. The Entry/Exit System (EES) went live on 10 April 2026 and digitally records non-EU travelers' entries and exits using biometrics (facial image and fingerprints) at the border, replacing manual passport stamping. ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorisation System), a pre-travel electronic authorisation for visa-exempt nationals, is expected to start in the last quarter of 2026 with a six-month transitional period afterward; it is NOT yet required as of 31 May 2026. Once mandatory, ETIAS will cost EUR 20 (free for under-18s and over-70s), be valid roughly three years, and be tied to the passport used. Travelers should still carry proof of onward/return travel, accommodation, sufficient funds, and travel insurance, as Schengen border officers may request these. The 90/180 rule is cumulative across all Schengen states, not just Czechia.
